The Spinning Queen?

On March 30, 2013, ten-year-old, Sophia Lucia stepped out onto the dance floor to attempt to beat the Guinness World Records 36 consecutive pirouettes.
 
Little did anyone guess she would far surpass 37 pirouettes and go on to achieve an outstanding 55 consecutive pirouettes, smashing the existing record and putting herself in the record books as the Spinning Queen.

Living her dream

 
Sophia Lucia started dancing at the young age of two years at San Diego Dance Centre in Poway, CA and is now flourishing to become one of the most exciting and young talents inN the industry. She trains 35 to 40 hours a week in Jazz, Contemporary, Tap and Ballet.
 
Sophia's focus and determination is leading her to excel in many ways as in setting the New Official Guinness World Record of Fifty-five consecutive pirouettes, being a spokesmodel for Capezio and designing a new line of dancewear for California Kisses. Sophia also holds several National Champion dance titles. At such a young age, she has been featured in numerous television shows such as: Dancing with the Stars, So You Think You Can Dance, Disney's Shake It Up, Dance Moms, X-Factor and Americas Got Talent. She has also made guest appearances on talk shows such as The Ellen Show and The Ricki Lake Show. She made her film debut in 2010 as child star icon, Shirley Temple in the Fox Legacy Movie - The Shirley Temple Story. Sophia's ability to captivate an audience with her artistry is one of a kind.
 
Her performances have catapulted her to Internet stardom and have taken her across the world to do what she loves most, dance. Sophia's future is bright, and her example is inspiring for all to never give up on your dreams.
